What do divorced couples do with their wedding and engagement rings?

After the couples get divorced, do they toss the wedding and engagement rings away?

  2. You pawn it.

  4. they melt them and then make a bullet to shoot eachother
  5. or get $ for them
  6. sell them or keep them just for meomry
  7. I sold mine!!!!!!!!!
  8. i think they either sell or you have to ask them for it
  9. Everyone has to make that decision for themselves. I sold mine and enjoyed the money.
  10. I sold mine to buy a new refrigerator!
  11. my friend had hers melted into another ring
  12. I would pawn mine.
  13. Some do but some pawn them, have them made into other jewelry, save them....
  14. some people keep them and just put them away
  15. That is what I did.
  16. save it in case you get married again. or just sell it online, pawn shops are dirty and gross.
  17. I pond mine.
  18. uuhh pawn them
  19. they sale them or sometimes they keep them but i would pawn it
  20. my friend threw hers in the river (pawning sounded like a wiser idea to me)
  21. A friend of mine threw her diamond in the ocean. I want to meet all the women who threw theirs away.
  22. I pawned mine rings. My ex probably did the same.
  23. Sell them on Ebay or get the diamonds taken out and put them on something else.
  24. sell them and make some cake lol
  25. Keep them for a rainy day, then sell them if necessary.
  26. Hi Cathy! Try Ebay. You might score more there for it than you would at a pawn shop. Happy singlehood! Enjoy it!
  27. Depends on how the divorce ended but most sell their rings or pawn them, wouldn't toss them if you can get some money. Maybe you could give them to a friend if you consider tossing.
  28. i think you shuold give it to your first born if there is one or...pawn it.
  29. keep them as reminders why you hate men lol or sell them for money but its nice if you keep them its a memory and a piece of your life time =]
  30. It's in a drawer somewhere. I wonder if I can get it melted down and turned into something useful? Oops. That's a question. Oh well, it's along the same thread......
  31. My best friend, now divorced twice pawned his. He felt like that suited the situation best.
  32. I kept them for my daughter. When she is grown she can have them.
  33. go to the nearest, major, high bridge and close ur eyes throw one and make a wish (use engament ring) Then take the wedding ring and close ur eyes and wish he will nevr be in your life again when you throw it **remember to mean it **
  34. Some people toss the rings to get rid of the bag mojo. Most people pawn them. I pawned mine! Now, if it’s an engagement ring and the marriage never takes place, the gal should return the ring to the guy. There was a supreme court ruling on that about a month ago- and it’s the right thing to do.
  35. SELL THEM GET SOMETHING OUT OF MARRIAGE AND MAKE SOME MONEY TO ARE KEEP THEM AS A REMINDER OF THINGS PAST AND LEARN FROM THEM
  36. unfortantly i have to give my engagement ring back but i keep the wedding rings
  37. They keep them safely as it is their most mamorable and valuable assets. Those moments they cant forget.
  38. We just seperated a few months ago but I still have mine. Think I'll take a trip to the pawn shop.
  39. Thanks for asking this question. This is good information.
  40. if you have a daughter, i would give my ring to her if i was divorced - as a gift from her father when she turns 18
  41. Don't waist your money!! Sell them, here in Yahoo or try E-bay, I am sure you will get good money for them. Good luck!!
  42. pawn shops are good. Or, if you have a child from the marriage, you can take the rings to a jeweler and the can make them into something nice you can give your child to say....the marriage didn't work, but you are someone so special that came from our time together, this (necklace, ring) is for you to remember that.
  43. I tossed mine out the highway. My husband left his rings hanging from a door knob at his old apartment.
  44. Sell it or Pawn it. Most people I know then use the money to go shopping & splurg it on themsleves.
  45. save them to give to their kids if there was of any value to it.
  46. I don't know what other people do and could care less to follow the norm. I still wear mine on my right hand and I think he wears his on his neck sometimes. The rings don't symbolize anything more than a piece of jewelry. I can't just toss it because it cost a lot and I don't want to sell it because I love the diamond and the design---so why not wear it?
  47. put um on ebay
  48. some keep them for their children and some sell them or trade them in for a bigger ring for thier next wedding..atleast that what my ex did
  49. I saved mine so I can pass them to my son when he is ready to marry. Doubt he will use the actual rings, but he can have the gold melted down and have a new set fashioned for his fiancee.
  50. Seems like everyone would run to the pawn shop! That is funny! If I were to ever get divorced, I would give it back. My wife gave me that ring as a promise of our life together, a dream that we both shared and should it be that the dream is no longer alive then the only right thing to do is give it back. It would be for her to choose what to do with it.
