engagement rings?

i would supose that the engagement ring should not be as glamorous as the wedding ring, or as expensive. so should the engagement ring be plain? whats the best. i dont care about the ring! i just want to get engaged and married to the man that i love!!!!

  1. You could just go to a jeweler's and pick out a wedding set. That would give you an engagement ring that would match or compliment the wedding ring and also come with a ring for the groom to be.
  2. If it is the man you truly love the the cost of the ring should not matter. Most importantly it is the thought and the gesture that matters.
  3. More usually, the engagement ring has a diamond, or gem, and the wedding band is simpler - quite often just plain gold. Leave this up to your bf, then he can choose something special he thinks you might like which fits his budget.
  4. Typically, it's the other way around, and rings are optional, though very traditional. The engagement ring is usually more expensive (usually with gems like diamonds or sapphires) and te wedding ring is either a plain band or one with stones to compliment the engagement ring.
  5. It's generally the opposite - the engagement ring has rocks (diamonds, sapphires, whatever) and the wedding ring is plain (gold, platinum, etc). Pick out whatever you like best, though. There are no "rules" for engagement and wedding rings. As long as you like it, that's good enough!
  6. It is the reverse. Sometime they can be bought in a matching set. The engagement ring has a center stone, the wedding band does not.
  7. I just bought the rings, and it was a hard concept to get, but the engagement ring is the expensive one, the engagement ring was around 3000, with the band only around $200
