Engagement Rings Questions
engagement rings? hi! my boyfriend and i are planning on looking for engagement rings soon and we kind of have no idea what we're looking for. how much is the ring supposed to cost/how big is the diamond supposed to be? most people say it's supposed to be proportional but i'm not sure what that means. i'm 5'4 and almost 120 pounds if that helps lol. thanks!
What the the convention for engagement and wedding rings? For women AND men: What does an engagement ring look like; what does a wedding band/ring look like; and why do some women wear both, it seems? Or at least they wear two rings... Or even more... What is the traditional convention? What about promise rings? Thanks for the information!
What is the best companies to buy engagement rings? I am looking to get married next year and there are so many choices to buy engagement rings from. I am very meticulous to where I would like to buy a diamond ring, and would like any suggestions on the best companies I can buy from. Can anyone help me with this question. Sorry, I forgot to mention where I live at... I live in NYC and I would like to spend a good amount of money for a very good quality diamond engagement ring and wanted to know the places where either I can get good value for a really top grade diamond and ring, or a very nice name brand... As you can see, I am very out of my element when it comes to jewelry. Ok thank's
How if at all are engagement rings taxed? Not that I'm going to buy one any time soon but is there really a situation couples are faced with where they have to say, here is an engagement ring, and I also took the liberty of figuring out how much you owe the government if you accept.
Can anyone tell me anything about Palladium engagement rings? i read an add about palladium engagement rings and it said "don't go broke for love" so i'm assuming that its cheaper than gold.. i was trying to find something about it on google but everything pretty much told me about the element and not the jewelry. i've been looking at engagement rings lately and i didn't know if palladium was a good choice, if it cheaply made, etc.. so if you have a palladium ring or know someone who does and can tell me anything about it.. please help!
What do other cultures do in place of engagement rings? My boyfriend has decided he is not in favor of engagement rings and would like to research what other cultures do when a couple gets engaged. Does anyone have an personal experience, general knowlege, or websites I can look at? Thanks! We want something symbolic, but are looking to stray from an engagement ring. We want something meaningful, not silly. Please answer seriously.
Is it cheaper to buy Engagement Rings in South East Asia than the UK? I'm travelling to Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Malaysia and am in the market for an engagement ring. I've heard it could be much cheaper to buy a ring or a diamond to have mounted in one of these countries rather than buying one in the UK. I've just no idea where to buy one, how much cheaper they will be and I'm a bit worried being ripped off and buying a fake.
What are the best places/stores to look for engagement rings? My boyfriend and I of 2 years are talking about moving on to the next level...engagement. I have been looking at the regular stores and such for ideas of rings, but I was just wondering if anyone else has any ideas of where I can look? Thanks!
What are the rules for engagement rings vs. wedding bands? I don't understand the different purposes or meanings behind the engagement ring vs. the wedding band. Do I really need both? We're shopping for engagement rings now. I found one I like and it's not too flashy: I want to wear THAT for the rest of my life. Can I just use it for an engagement ring then have him put it back on my finger during the ceremony? Or am I really supposed to have another seperate wedding band?
What are some good web sites for lab created diamond engagement rings? I am interested in finding affordable lab created diamond engagement rings that look real to the naked eye. I don't want cubiz zerconias, I would like something that looks more like a real diamond like moissanite, or another man made creation that is hand cut, not by machines like cz's.
Inexpensive, fake wedding rings and engagement rings Where to buy them? I'm sick of being hit on when at temp jobs and restaurants when I go out for dinner with friends. A few months ago, I found a website that sold realistic looks costume jewlery that featured TONS of very realistic looking engagement and wedding rings for anywhere between $20-30. Stupidly - I did not bookmark it - and can't for the life of me remember what it was called. Can anyone suggest or provide a link to a place where I can order a very inexpensive "faux" engagement and wedding ring? Thank in advance!
What's the etiquette with wearing inherited engagement rings? I recently inherited my grandmother's engagement and wedding ring. I'm single and not in a serious relationship. My question is, can I wear the ring on my right hand? Is there a proper length of time that I should wait before wearing it? The ring is a beautiful reminder of my grandmother and the love she shared with my late grandfather.
Does anyone know any websites with unique designs for engagement rings? I am looking for a really unique design for an engagement ring. Can anyone recommend any websites that they might have used or know about. Please don't suggest "google" etc etc......I have spent ages on there and on search engines. I was wondering if anyone has any PERSONAL experience for suggestions or recommendations. THANKS!
Why r engagement rings so expensive? I've seen commercials where they say these ear rings are 1 carat each and they sell for $599. So why are 1 carat engagement rings so much more money? I know it can't be the band that is making up the difference.
What is done with engagement rings in the case that a woman proposes to a man? Often, a man proposes to a woman and offers an engagement ring, but it is now possible that a woman may propose to a man. If this is the case, what is the status of engagement rings? Does a man wear one? Does the woman still wear one? Do both? My attempt to resolve this query through Google and Wikipedia have failed, so I ask the Answers community. For some context to respondents (since the person who did thought I was seeking advice [which is fine, no worries there]): -I am a male. -Neither I nor my girlfriend have no plans to propose in the immediate future to eachother. -I ask merely to resolve a question from my own curiosity.
Can you explain how engagement rings & wedding bands work? So I am confused on how the whole engagement ring system works. I heard that if you get a solitaire you wear that as your engagement ring, and then for the wedding you buy a wedding band that the solitaire snaps into to make it look like one bigger ring? I like the look of the three stone rings, so if I got a three stone engagement ring, then would I still have to buy a wedding band for the wedding?
Do you which shops/online sites I can go to to find engagement rings? Hi I getting engaged and I want to find a unique style engagement ring. I've looked for heaps of places but can't find the right one for me. Does anybody know where I can look? Australian websites would be preferred coz I live in NSW, AU. I like white gold. I just looking for designs at this stage. Any websites would be greatly appreciated
Rage in ladies engagement rings these days? I don't generally keep up with "what's hot" as far as jewelry is concerned. I'm recently engaged, but without a ring, specifically because my finance and I would like to pick out our rings together. Does anyone know what seems to be the rage in ladies engagement rings these days?
Where is a good place to look for Engagement Rings? Im searching on the Internet to find a ring that I like, so I can show my b/f. Where are some sites that I could look for engagement rings and or bridal sets? I know hometown jewelers are probably best, but I want something unique or different than just standard solitare. Please Help!!! Thanks:)
Where can I find legit filigree/antique engagement rings? I'm trying to find a place online/store that has legit filigree rings. From what I've been told Ebay is actually a decent place but I'd like to know if there is any specialty places. I'm looking to spend from 500 to 2K. Any extra info would be appreciated.
When exchaging rings during the wedding ceremony, what is done with the woman's engagement ring? Is there a "rule" on what a woman does with her engagement ring ... when the engagement ring/wedding ring are a set? Does the groom slip both rings on during the ceremony? Or does she wear the engagement ring and gets the wedding ring slipped on by itself? Or does she keep her finger bare and just get the wedding band slipped on during the ceremony (and put her engagement ring back on later)?
What should I do with my engagement and wedding rings after divorce? I was married August of 2005 and December 2006 I am awaiting the final divorce decree in the mail. A bad situation got worse and we do not speak to each other anymore. (Three weeks after we got married he told me that we never should have done that and it went down hill from there.) We do not have any kids together. He has nothing to do with me. I'm not really fond of the rings he picked out for me. The engagement ring is a bit scratched up from wear and tear and the wedding ring has our date engraved in it. I've thought about pawning them, throwing them in our new years eve bon fire, keeping them tucked away forever. I just don't know what feels right. Maybe I could just sell the diamonds to a jewelry store and burn the settings. I'm trying to clean my life up and start to close the wounds and move on to better things. Any ideas would be great.
What are the pros and cons of "eco" engagement rings? Eco rings are rings that are environmentally friendly, i.e. they use recycled gold and man-made diamonds. The rationale is that gold and diamond mining are damaging to the environment and exploit human labor; thus, by using pre-owned gold and creating diamonds in a laboratory rather than getting them from the ground, we can minimize the negative impact of jewelry-making on the environment as much as possible. GreenKarat is an example of a company that makes eco jewelry.
engagement Rings? Is it okay to buy a really nice engagement ring instead of a wedding ring? or just buy a nice wedding ring for the engagement instead of doing the two... because he really dosent want to spend the money to buy me two nice rings he would rather spend it all on one ? idk how this part works help would be great.. engagement rings? Just wondering, when two people get engaged, why is it JUST the woman that wears an engagement ring?? Why is this? If i'm wearing a 'taken' ring i would really want my boyfriend/fiance to wear one too and let the whole world know that he is all mine (i mean that in the nicest way possible, not possisive lol honestly i'm not, he's just so darn good looking). Anyway, i think men should wear engagement rings too. p.s. no luck from my boyfriend just yet! I'm genuinly not nagging or anything... just wanna know the history or why this is etc?

engagement rings? my boyfriend was talking about engagement rings (just in general, because his brother was getting married) and said that they are apparently supposed to cost some percent of the yearly salary, but i don't know! Traditionally, what percent or how much would an engagement ring cost? and/or how much was yours/your partners?

engagement rings? where to find reasonably priced engagement rings not looking to buy online
engagement rings? yo. im totally asking two questions at once. 1- how do you guys (by guys i just mean readers of this question, predominantly females : ) ) feel about non-diamond engagement rings? like what works and what wouldnt? how do you pick something that is awesome enough to last a really long time, and still seem classy? 2- whats the synthetic diamond stone thing called? ive heard about a synthetic diamond that is cheaper, lasts longer and is less likely to look "dead" later down the road. im not talking about CZ either. help me out! <3
Engagement rings? I barely ever wear jewelry and we have to go shopping for engagement rings. I know style is different from one person to another. But what are the popular cuts/styles these days? What about platinum vs white gold for the band? Would love some feedback..:) thanks
Engagement rings? What are the "unwritten rules" for engagement rings? Like cost, size, style, etc.

engagement rings? i would supose that the engagement ring should not be as glamorous as the wedding ring, or as expensive. so should the engagement ring be plain? whats the best. i dont care about the ring! i just want to get engaged and married to the man that i love!!!!
engagement rings...? What is this difference between a diamond engagement ring and a cubic zirconia engagement ring? (Other than price...)
Engagement RIngs? which finger do boys wear their engagement ring?? And which finger does girls wear thier engagement ring??
Engagement rings? I have just broken off my engagement ring to a complete and utter looser (only just found this out). Do you think I should give him the engagement ring back, or sell it? He does owe me money which I can't see me getting either? oh and its £10K he owes me, so not small fry!
Engagement rings? Okay, so I have a few questions for the men. Have you ever made payments on an Engagement ring or did you just pay it straight up? How much were your payments monthly and how much was the ring?
Engagement rings? Hi, My fiance and I have recently gotten engaged but are having trouble finding the right place to buy our engagement ring. We would like to buy a high quality diamond (GIA Cert) set in platnium (simple design) and have a budget of $5000. I never thought it would be SO traumatic or difficult to get something so simple and give someone $5000 of our hard earned cash! Does anyone have any recommendations/suggestions as I'm getting so tired of walking around the city . . . If I don't get a ring soon . . . I'm getting a motorbike!!!! heheeh PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks for your comments. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good quality jeweller in Melbourne CBD? Thanks :)
Engagement Rings? I am looking for a ring that isnt a typical engagement ring. I want something preferably without a diamond and not necessarily a setting with a big stone or anything- i want something much more unique- like a flower or butterfly made of stones or soemthing along those lines... anyone know any good sites with some suggestions?
Engagement rings? Hi, I may be getting engaged in the next year or so but have no idea what sort of engagement ring I should look for. Any tips on price-range, cuts, etc.? Sorry, just to clarify - my partner of 5 years has asked me to choose a ring so that's why I'm asking...someone mentioned that I should checked something called clarity but I really am clueless about rings so I really need help. I know roughly what his budget is but there's still a lot of choice out there - really confusing!
Engagement rings?? What is the average amt spent on the engagement ring....I really want to hear different opinions. Does the price matter to you if so why?? Is an $18,000 a lot of money to spend??? My b/f says it is very expensive he was thinking more like $11000....i have not showed him the one i want but i think he should know me well enough to chose the right one....am i being selfish.....i would really want to pass this ring on the my children that is one reason i want this ring
Engagement Rings? Does anyone know where I can order engagement ring on line from the UK. Either that or suggestions where I should buy one from please as am going on holiday with my girlfriend next week and I want to propose.

engagement rings? me and my boyfreind are going to get engaged,do we choose the ring together? do i pick one i like? what about cost? where to get a nice ring? help??
Engagement rings? We have been ring shopping and found the one I want but the only problem is that we can not get financed. He has okay credit because he has two credit cards. we don't have the extra cash to pay for it outright, and we don't want the layaway option. Are there any places where they let you do payment options while still being able to take home the ring? Ring is only $1100. This is my second marriage so there is not going to be a big and expensive wedding, reception, or honeymoon.
Engagement rings? Is it wrong for a woman to pay for her own ring when you live together and share expences but the woman earns alot more ?? (No I haven't just bought my own ring!!)
Engagement Rings? How much does the average ring cost? What size is most common (size of stone)? And whats a good place to look online for them? I'm not going to buy mine online, nor will he... i just want some ideas of what i want mine to look like to show him. we've talked about marriage and decided that both of us picking out the ring willl be better... he wants to get it right. but i didnt know there was rules about buying them... and thats what i needed to know! =] oh, and I'M NOT A GUY! I AM NOT BUYING THE RING. i want to know the 'average' size of the carat because i know nothing about rings and sizes... just because WE can only afford an average carat does not make us any less special. rings are expensive and i dont want him to spend to much because we're trying to START A LIFE TOGETHER. and a $4000 ring and no car or house is not a good start, personally i'd rather have a smaller one, get started, and get a nicer one on a anniversary or something.... geez.
engagement rings? do you need to pay off the ring before you receive it... or is there a way that i can get one and just make payments on it?
Engagement Rings? Does anyone know of some diamond Jewellers that have some very different and orginal Engagment designs? Within QLD - Brisbane area. Thanks heaps :-) xoxo
Engagement rings? White gold or Platinum ???? The price of Platinuim is alot higher so the diamond i would get would be smaller to be in budget, ladies would you perfer a bigger Diamond with White gold or a Smaller Diamond with Platinum???
Engagement Rings? Im just wondering if anyone has ever heard of or bought from Northstar Moissanite it is an online jewlery store I just want to know if it is lagit or is it a scam?
Is engagement ring same as wedding ring? Or people have two rings? Does the guy get a ring for an engagement? Or is it only the girl? And what happens at wedding? Do they exchange same ring again? Or have two rings instead? My boyfriend proposed to me in the most unexpected situation..and he did not have a ring with him at that time. Now, we are having an engagement party next month where would exchange the rings. We are going to pick the rings together. Currently we live in different towns and we have decided to have a wedding next year or so..when I end my contract with my company and move to his place. isn't it customary to exchange rings for wedding as well? So, we get two rings? I have seen girls wearing an engagement ring with a diamond and a wedding band which is more simpler. But, I have never seen guys wearing two rings!! Pour in your thoughts please!
Pearl engagement rings? My great-grandmother's engagement ring was pearls with purple amethysts. My mom has been saving this ring to give to my bf when he proposes. I don't care for diamonds and love this ring and it has sentimental value. However, she was just told that pearls don't make good engagement rings because they shrink when wet and can fall out. So, I have a few questions. Does anyone have a pearl engagement ring? Is it hard to care for? How practical would it be? Also, does anyone know if this is actually true and if so, how do I really care for a pearl ring? I'm trying to do some research to see how I can keep the ring and not change the setting and not have to worry about taking it off all the time in the shower, dishes, when putting on moisturizer (I know moisturizer can ruin pearls), etc. If I should post this on another forum, please let me know. Any advice, tips, suggestions, etc, would be really appreciated! I desperately want this ring but if it's too impractical... Thank you!

I think it's more like any residue eats away at the pearl which in turn makes it 'shink'... Maybe not so much that the water itself makes it shrink... I'll ask her again about that! Thanks for the reply.
Different types of engagement rings? I was talking about engagement rings with a friend and am curious to see what everyone here thinks. I dislike diamonds. I have just never been fond of them! Because of this, I don't want a diamond engagement ring. My boyfriend knows this and is fine with it. However, my friend's opinion is that it's not a "real" engagement ring if it's not diamonds! She thinks it's a "cheap" way of getting out of buying a diamond and is more of a friendship/promise ring without a diamond. I started thinking and I don't know a single engaged/married person withOUT a diamond engagement ring! (I LOVE pearls and my engagement ring will hopefully be a pearl.) What do you think? Is it not a "real" engagement ring just because it doesn't have diamonds? I asked another friend who agreed with her! I know people will say "wear what you like," but I'm just curious to see what your opinions are on this. Does it really matter what the stone is??
wedding and engagement rings? Is it really true that people did not start wearing diamond rings as wedding bands and or engagement bands until the 1930's? Was it really a marketing ploy by Debeers? I think its interesting that my dad gave my mom apples instead of an engagement ring. It told the man that I am with that if he wants to get me a ring it really just needs to be from the $.50 thing you can get a ring out of at walmart in the plastic container. a ring is a ring. He has already been married twice. I am sure he would love to save some money on me. That would be if he actually asked me to marry him. He's not the only guy I would tell to give me a ring like that. I don't really think a ring is that really important in the physical sense. just the symbolic sense. Also, is it really true that some guys feel like they have to give the girl a diamond ring to shut them up and get what they need out of them?
Question about Wedding/Engagement rings. Can you help? Alright, so im not to keen on how this all works. Is an engagement ring the same thing as a wedding ring? Like, do I go and buy my g/f a ring and propose and that is 'the ring'? Or do I get her an engagement ring AND then a wedding ring for our marriage? Also, I have seen couples wear gold bands as engagement rings until they get married and then give their g/f the ring? Whats the best way and how does it work? Thanks so much!
Carat size and engagement rings...when is enough enough? Why is there such a big push for the bigger is better ideology when buying engagement rings? Growing up I loved my mom’s engagement ring/wedding ring and wished for one from the man of my dreams. It’s simple, small, beautiful and symbolizes something so pure. Most my friends mom’s have small carat size engagement/wedding ring. But these days there is such a push for huge rocks. People bend over backwards to buy engagement rings. That’s so silly to me. If you can afford it go for it, but what happened to the simple days? Just to clarify...diamonds are beautiful, big or small. I just don't understand why so many people bend over backwards to buy a ring that isn't in their price range. Plus, I really don't understand why any girl who is in love and just got proposed to would be offended because of the ring size. Sure every girl is worth it, but sometimes "it" isn't affordable.
Engagement rings for guys? I have 2 sets of friends that are engaged and both guys in each couple are wearing a ring, but haven't been married yet. I don't know them well enough to feel okay asking them myself, so I was wondering if anyone here knows about engagement rings for guys. Are they just the wedding ring but they wear it while they're engaged too? Or is it a less fancy ring? If anyone has done this before, let me know. Because I think it would be a great idea for my fiance to wear a ring as well, even before we are married. Thanks for your opinons!
Showing Him Engagement Rings? So, I've been with my boyfriend for many years and we are finally starting to get settled down and ready for marriage (I was in school for many years when we first started dating). I'm hoping that an engagement will come very soon (within the next year) Anyway, I've never been a girl to talk openly around my boyfriend about weddings, engagement rings, etc, etc. Around my friends, I'm a total girlie, girl about that stuff and I just love it. But, not with my boyfriend. I never wanted to put the pressure on or make it seem like I wanted a ring or a wedding, more than a marriage. We've talked about marriage alot and we've made it clear about wanting to get married and be together. We are currently taking all the steps needed to insure a happy, healthy and stable relationship. We are working hard at our jobs, saving money and paying off debts; all so "we can be together" and such. But, we've yet to talk about wedding dates, wedding rings, engagement rings or weddings. Well, lately I've been looking around at engagement rings (for the fun of it) My boyfriend and I are both traditional, so he'll be buying the ring (most likely as a surprise) and surprising me with a proposal one day. Well, I was wondering if I could casually start showing him engagement rings. I would never make him commit to buying me one particular ring or style; but, I figure a few ideas never hurt. But, I'm so weird about it. I've never talked about wedding in this capacity around him and I don't want to make it seem like I'm turning into a bridezilla before we even get engaged. So, how do you turn your conversations about marriage to actual wedding talk (like about dates, rings, etc, etc) w/o making it seem like that all you want (and not the marriage) Plus, can I show my boyfriend rings or is that asking too much? The question is, "How do you talk about actually wedding details (like rings, etc) prior to getting engaged, without sounding like you want a wedding more than a marriage?" I've never talked about wedding around him before and I've never been one of those girlfriend's that says, "One our wedding day, I want us to have this......, or dance to this song...." Stuff like that. You know those kinds of girls. So, now that I actually want to bring it up, I'm worried I'll sound like a bridezilla, wedding obsessed women instead of someone who wants to get married because they love their boyfriend.
Engagement rings... Help please? Do rings come in pairs so you wear one when you're engaged and then the other when you're getting married? Do you have to take of your engagement ring off on the wedding day? Do guys wear an engagement ring?
Question about engagement/wedding rings...? How does the whole ring thing work? There is the engagement ring the guy buys for the girl but then does the girl have to buy the guy an engagement ring too? What about wedding rings? Does the guy have buy the girl a whole other ring for the wedding? Then the girl has to buy the guy a wedding band right? I'm so confused! How many rings are there?
Engagement Rings...what has it become? I see alot of questions on here concerning engagement rings, either about "how to get the one I want" or "should I let him pick it" types and would love to know everyone's thoughts on this, especially those of you already married. This is just my opinion, but I love the idea of the man choosing the ring, and surprising (as much as he can) the woman. This is how my fiancee did it. But see, I love the ring for what it symbolizes, not just because it's beautiful. Wouldn't care if it came out of a gumball machine. I see alot of conflicting opinions, and I'm not judging - just curious! There are all sorts of rings out there, and I guess I'm kind of sad to see that some women really seem to be competing, or complaining, and won't take anything less than what they absolutely want. Some say men can't be trusted to pick a good one out, and that's sad. Some say "I have to wear it forever, so it has to be perfect". Isn't it perfect because it came from the man you love? What are your thoughts? King of Pythons, I don't think I'm being naive. So you're telling me that if a man truly loves a woman, but they're very poor, he loves her less because he can't afford to buy her a nice ring, or a ring at all? That dictates love? And this also isn't about me being naive, I'm just stating my opinion. My fiancee spent money on mine, yes, and it's beautiful, but my point is that I wouldn't think less of him if he didn't - words say so much more. That's not being naive, that's being realistic.
men's engagement rings? help!!!!? about how much are mens engagement rings? can the engagement ring be the wedding ring also or do we have to buy a seperate wedding ring for him? we know nothing about this and we are too embarrassed to ask people we know.
Budget Engagement Rings - Getting Married In A Bit? My fiance and I are on limited budgets, and want to get married... problem is, the rings are so expensive everywhere I look, even on the internet. I don't want a totally fake ring, and I don't want to wait two or more years just to save up enough money to buy a TINY ring. Is there some site/store/designer that accepts small monthly payments? This is the ONLY way I can ever get an engagement ring at all. We've tried everything else. Even small monthly payments would take me two years MINIMUM to finish before I can get the ring. (wear now, start monthly payments after that doesn't exist, does it?) regzad, no, you can't wear a wedding band before even getting married. IMO, that's completely wrong, and a wedding band is just as expensive and has the same financial problems as the engagement ring. And Jean, you were extremely rude and bigoted. I'm on disability, and so is my fiance. There's no way we can work with our disability, and our doctors have forbidden it. Consider yourself lucky that you can have a job. Come back to Yahoo Answers when you've grown up!!! So... you are indicating that if I don't have a job/better job, I'm forbidden to marry? There's something called life, and marriage is part of life. Love comes first, money comes second. Grow up, you jerk! MBC... umm... how can I afford housing, bills, food, kids? Funny... why do you think I can't afford any of those things? I have the money... and nearly all of it goes towards the bills, all are paid on time and in full. I can very well afford everything you've mentioned. I just can't afford a HUGE lump sum or HUGE monthly payments for a ring. That's the ONLY thing I can't afford for the time being. When I get married, the fiancial situation will actually improve a bit. So, yes, I can afford to get married. I can't just afford a ring at the rates rings go for nowadays. Oh, and MBC... try being on disability, and having nearly all your money blow away to the usual monthly bills. I sustain myself perfectly fine with no late bills or debts. So, yes... I can whine about getting a bargain ring because everything else is in place and is being sustained properly. Two years to pay for a ring, YES. I've already looked everywhere and looked at the left over money I have from disability pay. Guess what? Exactly $57 a month left over. Try paying for a ring with THAT. You're all discouraging me from getting married just because I can't afford a ring. It's hurting me a lot, and you're taking your job/money for granted and looking down your noses at me and others like me. Your parents were probably poor when they married, and you don't treat them like ****, do you? Then why are you doing it to me? I don't think I want to use Yahoo Answers anymore with your kind of people hurting us. Have a good day and good bye.
Mens' Engagement Rings? I always thought that it wasn't fair for a woman to receive an engagement ring and a man to have nothing until the wedding... but it seems to be unpopular to exchange engagement rings... Can anyone offer etiquette or customary or general advice/opinions?
Male engagement rings....? My fiance does not have an engagement ring, nor want one. But in a recent quesiton on YA, I read that some men wear engagement rings. Do males only get these when their girl proposes? Or does the fiancee buy them after she's already been proposed to? If he does wear one, does he continue to do so once he gets his wedding band? If not, what does he do with it? Just curious for your thoughts :)
Birthstone engagement rings, where to buy? Ok,If you look at my last few questions you cna see that I have been trying to decide on what type of engagment ring I want to tell my boyfriend that I want.We are on a VERY tight budget.Im looking for somthing 100 dollars and lower.I finnaly came to an article about birthstone engagement rings, how they can be cheaper and have a more personal toutch. My stone is aquamarine and my boyfriends is diamonds.I think a ring with this mix will be perfect.I can't seem to find a web site with these rings with in his budegt.Any web sites anyone know of that would offer these?Im looking for white gold and these stones.THANKS
"Do engagement rings have to be diamonds?" - response & question? I saw this question after it had been answered and REALLY wanted to respond. I don't think there is a way to do that is there? Anyhow, the answer that I wanted to get back to the asker is - the "tradition" of a diamond engagement ring is actually a "new" tradition - less than 100 years old. Thank the De Beers company - aka the diamond producers - for a brilliant marketing plan. They got all the famous people to start using diamonds for engagement rings - and now "everyone" does it. Actually, the more traditional stone is Sapphire - which comes in a variety of shades. Blue, of course, is best known. But they come in a rainbow of colors. Anyhow - I don't think there is any way for me to share this info except to ask a question, is there? I checked and the original asker doesn't allow contact, so I think this is the only way?
Help!!! 2 Engagement Rings!! How do I wear them??? My Dad died in 1999. My Mom and Dad split up in the early 80s, BUT my Mom kept the engagement and wedding ring SET my Dad gave her. Guys opinion on Engagement rings? Well my boyfriend and I have been talking about getting married lately and the whole engagement thing came up. BUT, my boyfriend refuses to propose until he has enough money to buy me a really nice ring (his words were "the perfect ring"). Now I really always thought it was the girls who cared about the ring, and the guys who were just worried about what the girls would think. I just want to hear the words out of his mouth. I don't care if it is a cracker jack ring!! Rings are not cheap!! A nice one is definately not cheap! So I figure I'll be engaged say in...ooooo....two years???? LOL! I just wanted to know if this is the general concensos. Are most guys in that mind frame? They want the ring to be perfect despite what the girl thinks?? I just found it interesting, I don't care either way, just wanted to know how most guys felt! Well....okay maybe not cracker jack, but something cheap!! I'm a cheap date!! I went to my prom years ago in a $50 dress. C'mon now!!! Money really doesn't matter to me, I've always been poor!!! LOL!!!!
